The photo on the left is a 30 year old spud welder brought in for rebuild and retrofit. After a complete tear down and inspection all worn or broken Peck manufactured parts were repaired or replaced. All bearings, seals, cylinders, etc. were replaced. The machine was then retrofitted with our new servo system to control z axis up and down and the rotation of the torch. The z axis can be programmed by rotating the torch and touching the part to input a location. With this system cams are no longer needed to follow the contour of a tube that a spud is being welded to.
